Broken Blood Vessels

Broken Blood Vessels

Telangiectasias
Telangiectasias are dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin. They can be found anywhere on the body but are more commonly seen on the face (nose, cheeks and chin) and legs (particularily the thighs, below the knees and ankles). Telangiectasias are common in healthy people and are usually caused by aging or sun damage. Telangiectasias are small red, blue or purple linear marks and will temporarily disappear when pressed with the finger.
TREATMENTS
Broken blood vessels are most commonly treated in office with lasers. For most patients, results are visible after one treatment. More treatments may be required to maintain results.
